Adopting immersive and interactive forms, this series of training activities enabled international students to get a thorough understanding of traditional Chinese culture ranging from solar terms and folk customs to intangible cultural heritage and the Chinese language. It also provided a diverse platform for exchanges between students from all cultural backgrounds. The underlying purpose is to create opportunities and practical platforms for learning traditional Chinese culture. This allows Chinese students to try explaining Chinese culture to their international classmates studying in China, while giving international students a chance to experience Chinese culture up close. By planting seeds in the hearts of both Chinese and International students—all members of the SILC community—it aims to nurture future contributors to China’s high-level opening-up and cultural export efforts. |
